Product purpose

When trying to conceive, research has shown that creating an optimal environment for conception can begin up to six months in advance, with a minimum recommended preparation time of three months. Therefore, we suggest taking supplements as soon as you consider trying to conceive.

It’s recommended to take a daily supplement of folic acid (folate) during pregnancy. This supplement ensures you receive the optimum levels of folic acid, while also supporting hormone balance, fertility and reproduction, and helping to reduce tiredness.

Folic acid (400 µg) is often recommended, however, folic acid is a synthetic form of vitamin B9, while folate is the natural form found in foods like leafy vegetables, citrus fruits, and legumes. For those with a genetic variation (MTHFR gene) that hinders the utilization of folic acid, folate is more easily absorbed.

Please note that Folic acid (Folate) is crucial in preventing birth defects known as neural tube defects, including spina bifida. If you didn’t take folic acid before conceiving, start as soon as you find out you’re pregnant.

We recommend supplements containing 5-MTHF, the active form of folate, as they can be more beneficial for individuals. These supplements ensure better nutrient absorption of folic acid and can be more beneficial to you!

Notes

Does this contain the required 400ug of Folic Acid?

Yes, it does. In fact, it contains the more biologically active form of Folic Acid - Folate, naturally derived from Wild Nutrition’s Food-Grown process. Folate is easier to absorb and use because it is already activated, this is especially important for some women who are not able to activate standard folic acid genetically.

Can I take this whilst pregnant?

This supplement is safe to take when newly pregnant, however you should consider moving to a supplement especially made for pregnancy.

Do I need to take extra Vitamin D with this product?

Women who are pregnant are required to take extra Vitamin D, so we recommend supplementing with Vitamin D or Vegan Vitamin D to ensure your levels are topped up.

Is this suitable to take during assisted fertility (such as IUI, IVF or embryo transfer)?

Yes, this is completely safe to take during assisted fertility.

How long should I take this for?

Research has shown that building up an optimum environment for conception can start up to 6 months prior, with a minimum recommended preparation time of 3 months. We therefore suggest taking this as soon as you are considering trying to conceive.
